It took me a little more than expected to start publishing my 2nd post here, i’ve been so busy with my new project (details ahead), blogging, business planning and more…i could barely stop for a minute and think; Which brings to a mini-rant i have for today: jump/messy mood - This is when you just can’t relax, you can’t sit down and plan things quietly, which may hurt everything you’re dealing with. I seriously hate when this happens to me, something goes wrong, i get into pressure, and it only grows bigger and bigger…i hope i will be able to get things on track very soon, i’m going insane.

Project FirstRain: An introduction

Before i start talking about project FirstRain i want to apologize in advance for not being able to give any details on this project except for it’s progress and the revenue made from it, this is also for reasons i cannot specify.

FirstRain went underway in 21/9/2006, 2 days after talking to a fellow entreprenuer of mine about a simillar thing he is doing right now, with his help and guidance, i decided to expand what he was doing into a bigger, more business-like plan. The aim beyond FirstRain is not long-term business revenue, but rather using the revenue i will make from it as a financial push to help develop my ideas.

Today, almost 10 days after FirstRain started i feel things aren’t going quite as planned, mainly due to technical challenges i’m facing. I feel like that i didn’t take technical problems in account when planning, and while i’m disappointed with that, i feel i’ve gained exprience for future planning. Despite the difficulities FirstRain is far from being scratched, i will keep you posted on future developments.

Earnings for September

This month has brought in a decent amount, one of my best months for sure - i’ve made $76 in September. Adsense earned me $47, Text-Link-Ads $14 and i’ve managed to sell one link directly on my gadget-tech blog which is currently PR4 with an expected PR6 for $15 (2 spots are still available, just in case).

While i’m aware these numbers aren’t very high, i am quite satisfied with them, considering only two blogs made that amount, and that towards the end of the month i kind of let-off my blogging schedule while busy with FirstRain.

I’ve never considered selling links by myself on any of my blogs, i always thought of it as some kind of long negotiation you had to go through. TLA was doing a good quite a good job considering they are based upon Alexa and i thought i’ve done the maximum in order to make revenue on my blogs.

After i signed up on DigitalPoint forums, specifically looking in the “Link Sales” board, i noticed that PR4 and even PR3 sites that have lower traffic rates than my blogs are selling links, and are actually making some extra bucks. I’ve fetched that board for link buyers and PM’d some of them, offering them a close-to-content link on my gadget-tech blog for $15/month. One of the site owners messaged me back a few days ago and within 20 minutes we’ve closed the deal.

again, $15 isn’t a big sum, but considering the fact ads sold by TLA bring me $10 and that there were some empty spots to fill, it’s all good. What’s better now is that i know there’s always a place for more revenue streams, more ways to make revenue and that you gotta try something at least once, especially when you have nothing to lose!
