Soon to Be Sealed: 4 Figures Deal
I never talked about selling one of my sites before, there were only 2 commercially active ones anyway, my entertainment flagship-blog, and another tech-gadget-lifestyle blog i opened back in June 2005.
While browsing the DigitalPoint forums as i do every night, i saw a member looking to buy sites, among them technology sites as well. This got me thinking immediately - My tech blog has been taking little but significant time off my 24 hours, and though it is a valuable one with a lot of sentimental meaning to me, i might be ready to let it go.
As the negotiations advanced my dilemma became bigger: from one hand i need some immediate funds for my flagship redesign, and the rest of the cash will be used to purchase a low-maintenance site..but from the other hand - I’m selling a PR5 highly maintained blog with excellent relationship with the big boys (Gizmodo) and links from sites like Engadget, ProBlogger & Gadgetblog, alongside great unique content and neat design…it’s not making me as much as my other sites, but with some sponsored links, standard blogroll links and perhaps a few sponsored posts, a PR5 blog with 200 uniques a day can earn the buyer over $120/month!
After advising with some people (thanks for everyone that helped!) and doing simple math, i decided it will be better to let go of my first blog ever, it will free up some time that i need to launch my next project, it will give me some significant amount of $$$ to control, and above all that - that niche got heavily worn down for me, so I’ll be moving to something new!
The required transactions should be performed until the end of this weekend, stay tuned.
Until next time..
