January Earnings, February Goals

I apologize for not updating consistently for the last couple of days, things have been pretty much out of order for me since the month only started which means I have to pay & collect some cash. Anyway, in the menu tonight:

Earnings for January
February goals
Notable posts & plans for AlleNation

Earnings for January

Income:

- Google Adsense: $1,310 ( $1,966 in December, 33% decline)
- Direct link sales: $0 ($30 in in December)
- BlogAds: $220 ($80 in December, 275% growth)
- Text-Link-Ads: $48 ($20 in December)
- Website sales: $0 ($1400 in December)
- FeedBurner Ad Network: $62 ($69 in December)
- Paid posting: $92

Total income: $1732

Expenses:

- Domain name purchases: $9 ($27 in December)
- Link Purchases: $15
- Paid posting: $35

Total expenses: $59

Net profit for January: $1673 ($3459 in December, 190% decline)
(December’s earnings)

Analyzing my statistics superficially, you may think that my ship is sinking with %190 decline in earnings. That is, if you count the website sale in December’s earnings, which is naturally isn’t going to happen every month. If we exclude that sale from the statistics, we get a milder decline of 19%.

While I’m happy with the increasing diversification of income streams, the 33% decline in Adsense is something I need to take care of and ensure that there is an increase in this month’s Adsense earnings, I know January is usually the least profitable month since advertisers are taking a break after Christmas, but - the decrease was also as a result of less page impressions served in January.

February goals

  • Make at least $1500 from Google Adsense.
  • Sell at least $250 from BlogAds
  • Continue growing traffic and RSS subscribers on my blogs (both this and my entertainment blog)
  • Meet as many entrepreneurs, webmasters, bloggers and businessmen, network like crazy and share ideas. (Add me to Google Talk)
  • AlleNation: Grow traffic to at least 150 unique visits a day, and reach a subscriber count of 75. Increase my readership base and hopefully launch a newsletter towards the end of the month.
  • Notable posts & plans for AlleNation

This month was a very busy one, 19 posts were published and a whopping 100 new comments were added, an average of 5.25 comments for every post published! and since most of them are of some value at the least, I’m enjoying this blog.

I’m also quite overwhelmed with the amount of emails I started receiving since adding the “Contact” page, I’ve met several new business enthusiasts and was glad to give a hand for a few starting bloggers.

As for the goals I’ve set earlier in this post, I’m planning to reach them by trying to provide even more value to my readers, I’ve got linked by Problogger last month, but the real promotion was done by you through word-of-mouth which is still the most effective method with web-biz blogs in my opinion. Here are the editor’s picks for this month:

Allen, it sounds like you are doing great and have nice plans for February. I recently sold my first AdVolcano ad and that is my first income outside of Adsense.

Look forward to the next update to see how you did against February goals.

Great job with the earnings. Hey… we should chat. Do you use AIM or skype?

    Thanks guys.

Nate: I only use Google Talk, sorry. If you ever decide to get that one, do add me.

You are doing damn good Allen !! :)

Nice blog. Thanks for sharing your earnings also. I always find it inspirational learning of others who make a decent ammount of cash online.

Good luck with your february goals!

Perhaps you’d consider adding your blog to Blogoculars?

    Hey Allen,

Nice job, I am really like following the statistics of other blogs.

allen you did a great job. im a web worker daily , but it seems like, i dont get rewards from all of my. i did all bloggers suggestions and information . but still no work at all.

great virtue for a new blog clocking above $1,000+ Adsense Earnings. Keep up the good work.

    congrats.

How are you making money with AdSense when there is no AdSense on here? Are you reporting on results from some other website???

Thats pretty good money. Keep up the good work.

    Thanks for your feedback everyone.

HMTKSteve: Read the post again (specifically my goals for February), you will notice the fact I have more blogs.

Allen i read your article and i must admit they are really oustanding stuff. Really congratulations.

Other point i like is when you simply give your current earnings and your objectives. It allows us readers to follow the evolution of your blog and earnings and take advice from your experience.

Otherwise i had a question, is your adsense revenue only including this blog, or also other blogs/websites ?

I have launched my own blog in december in order to keep people informed of my way to make an income out of my online activity. I would greatly appreciate if you could give me some advice.

    Thanks, James

HAHAHA $1500 a month and you think you can retire? What’s with all of these piss-weak bloggers “blogging” about how much money they make when they make none at all. Hilarious!

James Storr: Thanks, and yes, my income is from other blogs, this blog is advertising-free.

James Ahn: You must be making so much to be laughing at bloggers, eh? :)

    Allen,

I already figured out that you run other websites based on the rest of your content. Why are there no links to these sites?

Hey Allen came over from a link on John Chow’s blog. It is seems like you have a real plan and I wish you the best of luck. Don’t worry about Mr. Ahn, he is probably rolling in dough from his blogs, but who cares, just keep on keeping on, success is only a matter of time. Like you I have about 57 micro websites, 200 parked domains and 1 blog (so far) making me right now a “piss-weak” $126 a month :). And like you I know if I keep at this for 5 years it will get somewhere, success. Love your blog and don’t give up.
